Mother's Day and painting...

Last week, Tom and I went up to the Roost, planning to do some staining on the porches and deck. Of course, it rained buckets so we had to change the plan. Tom decided to paint some bedrooms and put up ceiling fans instead. (I had schoolwork to do, and drove up to Blowing Rock to meet the Parkway folks about my project). Let us know what you think of our colors (althought they're kind of hard to see in the photos)!

Last weekend, I took Mom up for Mother's Day. On Sunday, we went up to Doughton Park for a picnic and a hike...

Not a bad hike up that hill for a 91 year old!

Old friends...

We had a nice surprise a couple of weeks ago. Some old friends came up from Florida to visit us at the Roost. Kerry and Jeanna moved to Florida several years ago. Kerry worked with us at RJ Reynolds, and also helped Tom build the deck and do many other repairs at the old house. It was really good to see them. We went up to Doughton Park for a picnic on Saturday.....

On a different note, we finally found a sofa for the den - a sleeper from World Market.
